Introducing FOUR New Browns!

Grace Tigist Brown (age 7-9)
Luke Mebratu Brown (5-6)
Oliver Wondimu Brown (DOB 4/24/08)
Olivia Konjit Brown (DOB 4/24/08)

Here they are! Just a few hours ago in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a judge declared us to be their new parents.

I cannot tell you what a delight it is to finally be able to post pictures today of our beautiful children. It has been seven months since we first saw their picture and made the decision to adopt them. God has been faithful beyond words. We are overwhelmed this morning with a sense of undeserved blessing. God moved on their behalf and ours in this situation as so many adoption petitions are encountering difficulty at this stage. They are officially, legally Browns this morning! We will travel in January, Lord willing, to bring them home.

Thank you for praying! And praise God with us for this great work that He has done.

"As for me, I would seek God, and to God would I commit my cause, who does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number..." Job 5:8,9

They are beautiful. They all look so much alike...there is no doubting that they are brothers and sisters. How neat. I especially like that three of the names you chose are in our family. HA! Olivia, Luke and Grace.

Blessings to your growing family! I cannot imagine anything you will receive for Christmas ever again that will top this gift.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

"God sets the lonely in families."
Psalm 68:6 Praise God for his goodness.

On a practical note, I don't know if I've mentioned this before Beth, but if you have anyone wanting to get you a gift or help in some way, one of the things that I treasure the most in feeding a family of 7 is my Cusinart food processor. Nearly every meal I make, I double to eat the next night and that means making enough to feed 14. But when it comes to chopping vegetables, meat, shredding cheese, etc, that machine saves me hours each week. I can't imagine life without it! I recommend the 14 cup size. I have the 11 cup and have always wished I would have gone larger.

Anyway, just thought you might appreciate the tip.

Love, Leslie

YES! Praise God! What precious children, and what a precious thing that they are all coming here together-- they will share a common history by birth-- and, prayerfully, a common Future in Heaven by adoption.

Congratulations!

Its stories like these and actions like these that speak our faith and our hope louder than mere words.

I am excited and inspired by your radical actions.

Praise the Lord... :o)

I have come to enjoy your articles on Boundless and the wisdom, insight and grace that God has blessed you and your family with.

I was brought to tears looking at the pictures of your new adoptive kids...mainly because adoption is close to my heart and I am praying that one day God will give me and my future husband the opportunity to adopt from Africa.

After learning last year during this time, our main teaching pastor Mike Erre spoke about adoption back in the first century and what it meant. It made complete sense now more than ever of what it means to be adopted into the family of God and also fueled my desire to adopt one day when God brings the right man into my life.

Congratulations...I think no words could describe the joy, excitement and happiness that is stirring in your families heart. I can only imagine the hardship that has come with this and at the end of it, "Yes" was the answer.

Blessings to you and your beautiful family :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!

I am Mark Erickson's dad. His mom and I spent two months in Soddo teaching surgery last year. We are delighted to have a very small inkling of where your new family has come from. May God bless you richly as you begin your new adventure as cross-cultural parents.

That is incredible!!! What absolutely beautiful children (I know that's redundant, but they ARE!)!
I have dear friends that had 7 biological children (the 7th has Down's Syndrome) and when they couldn't have any more, they started adopting. They are working on their 13th child- a 9 yr. old girl from China. I was nanny for them for 2 weeks and stand amazed at the grace and love God has poured into that family. They are some of my heroes!
